Finance policy brief and donor profiles: Official development assistance for mental health
United for Global Mental Health presents a new brief titled “Development Assistance for Mental Health 2023,” which unveils the evolving landscape of global support for mental well-being. Today, despite a growth in aid in general, only a handful of bilateral and multilateral donors significantly fund mental health. This paper looks at bilateral donors to explore recent key trends in development financing for mental health and identify policy recommendations.
In addition, we have developed donor profiles that offer a detailed analysis of those bilateral donors’ involvement and contributions to mental health initiatives. They further highlight donor priorities and funding partners, providing a clear understanding of the global aid landscape.
Download the brief and donor profiles through this link to gain valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities for donors, identifying areas where strategic interventions and further investments in mental health are needed to drive sustainable change.
