🎥 The Road to the High-Level Meeting on NCDs and Mental Health

At United for Global Mental Health, we believe that true progress in global mental health is driven by collective action, unwavering advocacy, and a shared vision.

This film captures the multi-year, collaborative journey that secured mental health a central place in the 2025 UN High-Level Meeting, and resulted in a political declaration we can now use to hold governments accountable.

UnitedGMH’s advocacy leadership – and our work as secretariat of the Global Mental Health Action Network – was central to making that happen. We coordinated the mental health community and we ensured mental health was part of the global decisions that mattered. 

From securing new commitments at the highest levels of government to amplifying the voices of lived experience, we have shown what is possible when advocates, policymakers, partners, and communities join hands with a shared purpose.

This story is a testament to what can be achieved when a global community unites for mental health. 

The High-Level Meeting was in 2025. Now there’s so much more to do.

Our mantra for 2026 is: from global to local, delivering better mental health support for everyone everywhere.

Looking ahead, we’re working alongside international agencies, governments, donors and civil society to reform mental health support for those who need it most. 

We are determined to help turn global commitments into national action.
